Purpose

LightsOn! Fairfield is a community-driven charitable initiative uniting neighbors in support of local families facing food insecurity. Over the course of a 30 day period, Fairfield households will “light up” their homes in YELLOW—each serving as a neighborhood food collection point.

How It Works

• Each participating home (“Host House”) will sign up-for a specific collection block of dates (consiting of 5 days/ 5 nights) using the sign up sheet (link below). Any and all Fairfield residents are welcome to participate.

• Hosts will receive a yellow yard light to display during their hosting period, signaling that donations are welcome.

• Community members can drop off non-perishable food and pantry items or grocery gift cards at any Host House (a collection basket, bin, or table will be visibly marked). Click HERE for Operation Hope’s Pantry List.

• Hosts will collect and deliver their food/pantry items to Operation Hope (636 Old Post Road) during their collection hours (M-F, 9:30a-4:30p; closed 12/25 for Christmas). Grocery gift cards may be delivered to Operation Hope (see hours above) or to Fairfield Social Services (100 Mona Terrace).

Goal
